Kylie Kelce opens up in tears on her pregnancy loss journey

Kylie Kelce Breaks Down: The Miscarriage Behind the Smile

In a raw, emotional episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie Kelce shared a story she’s held close: a miscarriage she experienced before welcoming her first daughter, Wyatt. This October, coinciding with Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, her revelations struck a chord with many.

The Joyful Beginning: A “Welcome Daughter” Surprise

Back in August 2018, Kylie received that life-changing positive pregnancy test. She and Jason were in London for a game, and decided to surprise his family his parents, brother Travis, and more with the news via photos and videos. The moment was filled with hope and expectation.

Then the Silent Heartbreak

During a 12-week appointment after returning from London, doctors were unable to detect a heartbeat. Kylie described that moment as if “everything went into slow motion.” It was a missed miscarriage, meaning her body hadn’t yet understood the loss.
What made it even more difficult: it fell on Jason’s birthday. Kylie delayed sharing the news, wrestling with how to tell him on a day meant for celebration.

How It Still Hurts

Even after four children Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett, and Finn Kylie admitted the pain lingers. She said the miscarriage “still hurts,” and shaped how they approached future pregnancies.
She explained they waited longer to announce pregnancies later on because of the fear and uncertainty she carried.

Why It Matters Now

This story is especially powerful in Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Kylie’s openness offers solace and solidarity to people who have suffered similar losses. She stressed that losses whether early or later are valid and lasting.

Reflections & Takeaways

  • Emotional stories like this remind us grief doesn’t always fade.

  • Announcements and joy can hide pain behind them.

  • Public figures sharing such vulnerabilities help break silence around loss.

  • Being cautious with future pregnancies after heartbreak is a deeply human response.
